Tanya Ellison, CPAe, Owner
Tanya has been grooming pets for over 30 years, including seven years working in a veterinary setting, where she also received veterinary technician training. Throughout her career, she has worked with veterinary clinics and grooming salons across the Midwest and continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing education, training, and research.
Tanya specializes in custom grooming services and breed-specific cuts, with an emphasis on providing compassionate, trustworthy care for every pet.
In 2016, Tanya became a Certified Pet Aesthetician (CPAe), a specialized certification held by only a limited number of professional groomers. Her extensive training included the science of skin and coat health, medical and dermatological terminology, proper record keeping, working alongside veterinarians, and specialized approaches to common skin and coat conditions.
As a Certified Pet Aesthetician, Tanya has advanced training in recognizing and addressing concerns involving allergies, bacterial and fungal conditions, parasites, and other skin and coat issues. She uses professional, pet-safe products, including products from Iv San Bernard Fine Italian Pet Products.
What makes a Certified Pet Aesthetician different from the average groomer? CPAe training goes beyond traditional grooming to include a deeper understanding of skin and coat health, dermatological conditions, and how groomers can work effectively with veterinarians when a pet requires additional care. You can learn more on our Certifications page.
Outside of grooming, Tanya is the mother of six children, with three still at home, and the grandmother of six. Her family also includes two dogs, DJ and Phoenix—who can often be found greeting customers at the shop—and a cat named Pippin.
In her spare time, Tanya enjoys crafting and gardening.
“I treat all animals as my own. No matter the challenge, they all deserve care, compassion, and a cookie!”
